Help improve cancer care in the High Country

The Seby B. Jones Regional Cancer Center, consisting of medical oncology and radiation oncology is an important part of the Appalachian Regional Healthcare System.  In an effort to provide the best care possible, we are excited to announce new technology enhancements to Seby B. Jones Regional Cancer Center that are already improving outcomes and providing state-of-the-art cancer care to our community.

1.5 Million

to fund the new CT machine and Linear Accelerator upgrade for high clarity images, radiation exposure reduction, and faster treatments

300 patients per year

receive cancer treatment at Seby B. Jones Regional Cancer Center

Additional local therapies

to accommodate more patients and ease anxiety when scheduling treatments

Reduced treatment time

The new Linear Accelerator Head Unit (LINAC) reduces treatment table time from 40 minutes to 10 minutes

The number of new cancer diagnoses at Watauga Medical Center between January 1, 2016 and May 31, 2017, based on patients’ county of residence
