Are you looking to find a meaningful way to volunteer your time? If so, we have a position for you!
Seby B. Jones Regional Cancer Center has partnered with UNC Lineberger Cancer Center to offer a new position in which volunteers are trained to provide additional support to patients facing a diagnosis of cancer. We are recruiting retired healthcare providers, educators, members of the community, cancer survivors and/or caregivers.
Lay Navigators will be trained to:
- Provide information about hospital support services and community resources
- Offer emotional support to patients and their caregivers
- Inform and guide patients and caregivers throughout Seby B. Jones Regional Cancer Center
- Link patients and caregivers to reliable cancer support resources to help address financial, transportation and other identified needs.
Our lay navigators do not provide medical care, medical advice, psychotherapy or interfere with the doctor/patient relationship.
