By becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will be a vital part of our team and have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve.
We are now accepting applications for a paid certified nursing assistant training. This nine-week training is offered in partnership with Caldwell Community College. Upon successful completion of the training, candidates will be placed in a certified nursing assistant role within the Appalachian Regional Healthcare System.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, complete the interview process, and pass all pre-employment screenings to be considered for the program.
Class will be held September 10th – November 9th on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm at the Watauga Campus of Caldwell Community College.
If selected, ARHS will cover the cost of
- registration fee
- malpractice insurance
- online modules
- certification exam
Candidates are responsible for the cost of
- minor medical equipment
- any other fees required by Caldwell Community College
Students will receive compensation for their time in class and have a schedule that allows additional working hours up to 40 hours per week.
