Dr. Hanna is a board-certified cardiologist who received his undergraduate education at Emory University. After earning his MD degree, he completed his post-graduate training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology from Yale and Brown Universities. He practiced as a staff cardiologist and assistant professor of medicine at the VA Medical Center in Providence, Rhode Island, before opening his private practice of almost 30 years, and was chief of cardiology at St Joseph Hospital Health Services until 2012. Dr. Hanna practiced Cardiology in the Tampa Bay Area over the past 4 years and recently moved to the High Country.
Dr. Hanna was born and raised in Florida but spent most every summer in Blowing Rock. Dr. Hanna’s family has been a part of the Blowing Rock Community since 1919, and his mother currently owns and operates the family business in beautiful downtown Blowing Rock.
Dr. Hanna’s wife is a Gynecologist and they have 4 children and one grandchild. For recreation, Dr. Hanna enjoys golf, sailing, cooking, voice, and horticulture, and he is fluent in Spanish.
