Dr. Matthew McGhee was born and raised in central Georgia farm country. He completed medical school at the Medical College of Georgia, followed by Internal Medicine residency training in Greenville, SC at the University of SC School of Medicine, Greenville. Dr. McGhee finds the evolving world of internal medicine to be incredibly enjoyable and loves to bring new evidence based medicine to his patients.

He and his wife (a pediatrician) love to travel. They particularly enjoy rugged terrain; they were engaged on the cliffs of Santorini and married at the base of Mount Haleakala in Hawaii. The two are excited to bring their love of medicine to Boone and call the mountains of North Carolina home!
