The Paul H. Broyhill Wellness Center
The Paul H. Broyhill Wellness Center and gym offers several fitness programs to help members improve cardiovascular endurance as well as muscular strength and endurance. The Wellness Center has several amenities including indoor basketball and racquetball courts, as well as an indoor track, swimming pool, cardiovascular equipment, strength training machines and free weights.
The Wellness Center also offers a variety of classes and programs to help you stay fit, including Crossfit Boone, personal training, massage therapy, Thrive and much more.

THRIVE Transition to Wellness
Thrive is a medically supervised program at the Paul H. Broyhill Wellness Center that transitions participants from more acute phases of chronic disease management to wellness. The program may include supervised exercise, nutritional counseling, chronic disease education, self management strategies and action planning to meet your wellness goals.
Thrive consists of three tracks based on individualized evaluation.
- Cardiopulmonary Track for those participants with Chronic Diseases such as Cardiac or Pulmonary diagnoses, and Diabetes.
- Oncology Track for those participants managing cancer and treatment related side effects.
- Fit for the Future Track is a nutrition and weight management program that is specifically designed for patients who want to lose weight.

AdFit Adolescent Fitness Program
Ad-Fit is an adolescent fitness program designed for adolescents who are in the 85th percentile or higher based on their BMI. Participants enjoy a fun filled summerbeing physically active and learning more about proper nutrition. This program is designed so that participants learn healthy lifestyle habits, while also having an extremely fun summer.
In previous years, participants have enjoyed riding bikes on the Virginia Creeper Trail, kayaking down the New River, learning more about where their food comes from at a NC Dairy Farm and picking local blueberries. Participants also have enjoyed some more thrilling field trips such as catching a game at the Winston Salem Dash Ballpark, riding the rapids at the Great Wolf Lodge and playing outdoor laser tag.
Daily emphasis is placed on choosing healthy foods and enjoying a very active lifestyle. Participants in the past have raved about the experiences that they receive and how they now choose healthier after school snacks and try to stay more active on the weekends with their families.
The program runs June-August, Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 8:00 am (drop off time) until 4:00 pm.

Cost: $100 per week/per child
*Fee includes activities, field trips, lunches and snacks.
The Ad-Fit Program is supervised by Heather Casey, MS, RD, LDN, a registered dietitian. All activities and interventions are planned and supervised by professional Ad-Fit Staff. Ad-Fit Staff members do go through First Aid Training and many of our staff do have CPR certifications.
