For 39 years, Watauga Medical Center and the Golf Tournament Committee members have held this tournament in memory of Grover C. Robbins, Jr.  A visionary of development, Grover C. Robbins, Jr. along with his brothers Harry and Spencer created Tweetsie Railroad, Hound Ears Club, Beech Mountain, The Land of Oz, Linville Land Harbor, Goldrush Junction (which became today's Dollywood) and The Reef Resort in the Virgin Islands.  Over the years, the tournament has raised more than $1,200,000.00 toward the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
