Richard Smith, MD joined Appalachian Regional Internal Medicine Specialists on July 1, 2016. He is board certified in Internal Medicine (ABIM) and has more than 30 years of experience in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
Dr. Smith completed his undergraduate degree at Bucknell University, PA, and his medical school training at Northwestern University Medicine School in Chicago, IL. He went on to complete his Internal Medicine Residency at USAF Medical Center Keesler, Keesler Air Force Base, MS. Shortly thereafter, he became the Chief of Medical Residents at Keesler Medical Center. From there, Dr. Smith served as the Chief of Internal Medicine at USAF Academy Hospital, CO.
Prior to moving to the High Country, Dr. Smith spent the last 23 years practicing internal medicine in Nashville, TN. His special interests include diabetes management, coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, thyroid disease and cholesterol management. When not at work, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his wife and playing the guitar.
Dr. Stark is not accepting new patients at this time.
Richard Stark, MD received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and completed his internship and residency at Erlanger Medical Center at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. Dr. Stark is board certified in internal medicine.
He is excited to be living in the beautiful mountains with his wife and three children.
