Heather Jordan, CNM is a 2002 graduate of East Carolina University School of Nursing in Greenville, NC with a Masters of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Nurse Midwifery. Her undergraduate degrees include Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Washington and Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from Davidson College.
She is board certified in American Midwifery Certification Board and American College of Nurse Midwives.
Heidi Robertson, FNP joined Harmony Center for Women in November 2016 and moved to Davant Medical Clinic in 2018. Before joining the Harmony team, the Watauga County native worked for six years in various nursing positions including the neonatal intensive care unit at Johnson City Medical Center. Robertson completed both her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner at East Tennessee State University. Robertson is married with three children. When not at work, Robertson enjoys photography, camping, and boating with her friends and family.
Dr. Lynda Gioia-Flynt is a board certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. She completed both her undergraduate and medical degrees from Wake Forest University. She completed residency at State University of NY in Stony Brook where she was an administrative Chief Resident. Subsequently, she was an Assistant Professor and ultimately GYN Division Director at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, TN. She is happy to move back to North Carolina with her husband and two children to practice in Boone.
Dr. Shane Miller is a board certified Obstetrician Gynecologist. He completed his medical education at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine where he graduated with Honors. He then went on to complete his residency training at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, where he remained on faculty as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology. During this time Dr. Miller served as both Director of Obstetrics and Director of Family Planning as well as being physician champion for several maternal quality and safety initiatives.
While Dr. Miller enjoys general obstetrics and gynecology, he is especially interested in family planning and contraception and is a passionate advocate for reproductive rights. Dr. Miller is very excited to join Harmony Center for Women’s Health and Vitality and move to the high country with his fiancée, Shaun, and their 3 dogs.
Nancy Griffith, FNP, CNM is a family nurse practitioner and a certified nurse midwife. She has lived in the mountains of Avery County since 1993 and enjoys providing healthcare to families in our community. Nancy has a diploma in nursing from Mercy School of Nursing in Charlotte, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNC Charlotte, a Master’s Degree in Nursing from UNC Chapel Hill and a Post-Master’s Certificate in midwifery from Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing.
She is married to Reo Griffith and they have two children Abigail and Robert Benjamin.
