Dr. Beaver currently serves as the Cancer Liaison Physician to the American College of Surgeons – Commission on Cancer for Approved Cancer Programs. She has served in this capacity for over 11 years. In addition, she serves on the Breast Center of Excellence Committee, Cancer Committee, Oncology Service Line Committee, Surgical Services Committee, and the Executive Committee of Watauga Medical Center. She also proudly served her colleagues as the Chair of the Surgery Department at Watauga Medical Center 2013-2014.
Dr. Beaver is the recipient of the Watauga County People’s Choice Awards for 2019 and 2020 Best Surgeon Award.
As a general surgeon for Watauga Surgical Group, Dr. Beaver routinely encounters, diagnoses, and treats a broad scope of general surgery conditions. Dr. Beaver has achieved certification in Breast Ultrasound by the American Society of Breast Surgeons. She is proficient in minimally invasive, endoscopic, and laparoscopic techniques with a passion and special interest in breast surgery, thyroid surgery, parathyroid surgery, and surgical oncology. She is committed to working in unison with oncologists and radiation oncologists to ensure her cancer patients receive a personally designed treatment and follow-up plan.
Besides her passion for private surgical practice, Dr. Beaver previously operated at the Mountain Home VA Medical Center in her hometown of Johnson City, Tennessee. While there, she served as the Chief of General Surgery, acting Deputy to the Chief of Surgery, and Chair of the Cancer Committee. She also enjoyed mentoring surgical residents and medical students at East Tennessee State University.
Although Dr. Beaver provides advanced and innovative technologies here in the United States, she has always devoted time to travel abroad and volunteer in underprivileged medical facilities around the world. She has served in African, Central American, and South Asian hospitals. Anne-Corinne has strong aspirations to continue her mission work and volunteer overseas.
When not performing her medical duties, Anne-Corinne enjoys reading, running, scuba diving, skiing, and traveling. She also enjoys attending church, walking her dogs, and watching college football with her family.
Dr. Paul Sami Dagher graduated from Wheaton College in 1989 with a major in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Bible. He completed medical school at Loma Linda University in Southern California in 1993 and completed his general surgery residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in 1998.
Dr. Dagher is the recipient of the Watauga County People’s Choice Awards for 2011, 2012, 2013, 2018, 2021 and 2022 Best Surgeon Award.
Dr. Dagher has been an active staff member at Watauga Medical Center since 1998 and has been the CEO of Watauga Surgical Group. He has served on various committees at Watauga Medical Center and has been Chairman of the Department of Surgery and Chief of the Medical staff. He currently serves on the Clinical Transformation Committee, the Credentials Committee and as a member of the Appalachian Regional Healthcare System board of trustees. He also works as the Medical Director at the Wound Care Center.
During his career, Dr. Dagher has served as an educator/preceptor to many physician assistant and family nurse practitioner students during their surgical rotations.
In addition to his expertise in general surgery, Dr. Dagher has a particular interest in the care of patients with breast disease including breast cancer. He utilizes minimally invasive techniques such as stereotactic biopsy, mammotome biopsy, and breast ultrasound to evaluate his patients and obtain a diagnosis. Many of these procedures are performed in his office. When the diagnosis of cancer is made he works closely with our medical and radiation oncologists, presenting each case in our cancer conference to come up with a comprehensive plan of care.
Dr. Dagher has also provided the residents of Watauga County with varicose vein care. For approximately 8 years he has been treating symptomatic varicose veins with radiofrequency ablation, a minimally invasive technique. This procedure is done through a needle stick in the comfort and privacy of his office. He also performs sclerotherapy (injections) for unsightly spider veins.
Dr. Dagher has a keen interest in medical missions and has been overseas in that capacity on multiple occasions. He has served in Zaire, Iraq, Togo, and Zambia. He is an active member of his church, Alliance Bible Fellowship, where he and his family attend.

Dr. Edmisten is a native of Boone, North Carolina who returned with his family in 1999 after completing a Fellowship in General Thoracic Surgery at St. Georges Hospital in London, England. The majority of his General Surgery training was performed in Roanoke, Virginia, as well as spending nine months at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
Dr. Edmisten is the recipient of the Watauga County People’s Choice Awards for 2014, 2015 and 2017 Best Surgeon Award.
In addition to his expertise in the field of general surgery, Dr. Edmisten has interest and specialty training in surgical disorders of the lung and esophagus. This includes minimally invasive procedures (thoracoscopy and laparoscopic fundoplication) for lung disease as well as for gastroesophageal reflux. His other interests include breast surgery, thyroid surgery, and minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures for many conditions within the abdomen, including colon surgery.
Dr. Edmisten has also been involved in third world medical missions with trips to Kenya and Zambia through World Medical Missions. He is an active member of Alliance Bible Fellowship, where he attends with his wife Laura and their five children.
Dr. Thomas M. Haizlip, Jr., received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Dr. Haizlip is board certified in general surgery and has been part of the Tate Clinic since 1998. Dr. Hazlip performs colonoscopies and other gastroenterological surgery.
Dr. Haizlip is currently serving as the Chief of Staff at Cannon Memorial Hospital.
