The Wound Care Center

The Wound Care Center of ARHS began seeing patients October 25, 2010.  Conveniently located at 169 Doctors Drive in Boone, The Wound Care Center offers:

  • Compression treatment
  • Negative pressure wound therapy
  • Wound irrigation & debridement
  • Therapeutic wound care modalities
  • Ostomy pre-op education
  • Stoma marking
  • Post-op care
  • Total Contact Casting

Common with the elderly people, people with diabetes or vascular issues, or obese people, chronic wounds need to be treated to prevent infection, amputation or death.  The Wound Care Center provides Total Contact Casting, compression treatment, negative pressure wound therapy, wound irrigation and debridement, therapeutic wound care modalities and Ostomy pre-op education, Stoma marking and post-op care.

The Wound Care Center team includes a wound-educated PA-C (Advanced Practitioner), a certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse, a highly experienced Registered Nurse, a wound-educated CNA and a welcoming front-desk staff. Harold Frazier, Jr., MD of Watauga Surgical Group serves as the Medical Director of The Wound Care Center. The team also collaborates with Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, certified diabetes educators, nutritionists and social workers, as well as other medical professionals. A physician referral is required.
