For most people, dealing with a problem wound can be difficult and frustrating. Non-healing wounds that are a result of trauma, surgery, complications with diabetes or pressure ulcers, often require an aggressive multidisciplinary team approach.

Watauga Medical Center’s highly qualified and experienced Wound Care Center team includes a wound-educated PA-C (Advanced Practitioner), certified Wound Ostomy Continence nursing staff, and Certified Medical Office Assistants. Paul S. Dagher, MD of Watauga Surgical Group serves as the Medical Director of The Wound Care Center.

The Wound Care Center not only provides several treatment modalities, but also, when appropriate, nutrition counseling, diabetes education, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, diagnostic testing and lab services. Additionally, full ostomy services including pre-op education, stoma marking and post-op care is available.

Our healing rates are 23% higher than the national average for similar U.S. wound care centers.

What our patients are saying

I want to just express my sincere thanks to the Drs. and staff at the Wound Clinic in Boone. My mother has had a chronic skin disorder for several years and had been to different doctors in Appalachian Regional Healthcare Systems. We were fortunate enough to be referred to the wound clinic and was very impressed with the care and compassion that was shown to my mother. They really seems to actually care about her as a person. Kudos to the Wound Clinic.
