Each year during the holiday season, the Cancer Resource Alliance (CRA) sells ornaments to decorate trees on Watauga Medical Center’s campus. Anyone may purchase an ornament with a suggested $10 donation in honor of or in memory of someone special.

All proceeds from these ornaments benefit the CRA, which provides programs and services to help cancer survivors and their families find support during and after diagnosis and treatment.

Decorated trees will be on display from December 1st until January 5th, 2024. In addition to the tree in the Schaefer Family Patient Care Tower lobby at Watauga Medical Center there will be two festive trees inside the Seby B. Jones Regional Cancer Center located in the Medical Oncology Lobby and Radiation Oncology Lobby.

Elegant, stained glass ornaments with a commemorative ribbon have been chosen for this occasion. Local artist and spouse of a current patient, Loretta Barbee has created unique stained glass ornaments with each honoree’s name hand painted on each ornament.
