Dr. Donna Denier joined The Heart & Vascular Center team in March 2016. Before moving to Boone, she served as a cardiologist for 17 years in Franklin Square, N.Y. Dr. Denier is board certified in cardiovascular diseases, internal medicine, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. She obtained her medical degree from SUNY at Stony Brook School of Medicine, then completed her residency in internal medicine and her fellowship training in cardiovascular diseases at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, N.Y. where she was voted outstanding fellow. Dr. Denier recently obtained her M.B.A. at Adelphi University in N.Y.

Dr. Denier specializes in clinical cardiology and has a special interest in promoting cardiovascular health through prevention. She recently served as chief of cardiology at NS/LIJ Franklin Hospital where she was a member of the medical board and president of the medical staff. Dr. Denier is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Nassau Academy of Medicine. She has served as an elected councilor of the New York State Chapter of the ACC for the past six years. Dr. Denier, mother of four sons, first fell in love with Boone when one of her sons attended Appalachian State. She has decided to move to North Carolina to live closer to three of her sons who live in the area.
