Peter L. Duffy, MD, obtained his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. He completed his residency at Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Duffy is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology.
Before joining The Heart & Vascular Center of Watauga Medical Center, Dr. Duffy served at Reid Heart Center in Pinehurst, NC for 10 years. Before that he worked with Florida Heart & Vascular Care at Aventura and Mt. Sinai Medical Center of Florida as director of the cardiac catheterization laboratories.
Throughout his career, Dr. Duffy has performed more than 15,000 cardiac catheterization procedures with high patient satisfaction and quality outcomes. He also serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Trustees for the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.
Dr. Duffy’s parents and grandfather were instrumental in instilling in him self-discipline, self-confidence, and a quest for knowledge, while modeling kindness, caring, and compassion. He strives to follow their lead in his personal and professional life.
In his time outside of work, Dr. Duffy likes to travel for business and pleasure, consult with companies and organizations on implementing quality initiatives. He also enjoys running, golf, and reading biographies and historical novels.
